On September 11th. 2021 America will honor its fallen citizens and our first responders that ran to the scene of destruction when America was attacked 20 years ago.
Events That have Changed The World
There are world events that for a generation are remembered the rest of their lives. Events that change how society views the world and how we live, what we do and how we perceive others globally. In the 20th century it clearly was the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th, 1941 and later the assassination of President John F Kennedy which occurred in Dallas, TX on November 22nd, 1963. The most recent worldwide event that shook the pillars of the American conciseness was the attack on the world trade towers on September 11, 2001.
Now 20 years later we reflect on what has happened since that day, how the world has changed, how we perceive that world and what we have done since that fateful date.
Just recently America finally excited Afghanistan after occupying that country for 20 years. Why? Well according to some we were there to prevent future attacks on American soil. Others would suggest that it was corporate interests like supporting an endless war and the military industrial complex that former President Dwight D Eisenhower warned us about. Whether you subscribe to any number of socio political opinions of the left or the right the one undeniable things is that we are were attacked. People lost their lives and someone was to blame.
We Will Never Forget
After so many years one thing is for certain: the memories of our fellow Americans will not be forgotten.
